GOALS OF THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Beijing Da Art Space (BDAS) is a not-profit organization. Our aim is to provide international visual artists (also including art organization/group, filmmaker/s, dancer/s, writer/s, etc.) with affordable rental rates to studio residency program. This program affords a diverse and underserved array of artists the opportunity: (1) to produce new body of work, (2) to provide artists with concentrated time to focus on a research project in Beijing of China.

ELIGIBILITY

 Applicants must be 19 years of age or older. Applicant requires a minimum period of two-months and a maximum of one-year residency. Applications are for individual artist/s or art organization/group. Applicants can be at any stage of their career. Applications are accepted from artists of all disciplines at the research or conceptualization stage of a project. Applicants must buy travel health insurance in your home country to cover your trip to China. Applications are accepted by e-mail only. There is no application fee for applicants. Applications are accepted all year round.

(1) A cover letter (including your name, address, age, phone, email address, website. (2) Special medical, dietary or physical requirements we should know about. (3) Fill out the Application Form. 

(1) Visual Artists (also including filmmaker/s, dancer/s): include 10 digital images representative of your recent work (e-file), digital images such as PC format, JPEG, image size: between 18 cm x 12 cm (minimum/maximum ), pixel resolutions of 72. Plus articles/reviews. (2) Writers: include selection of published work (s) or work (s) in progress, maximum 12 pages (e-file). (3) Composers: include two recordings of your work (e-file). (4) Other applicants: include appropriate examples of your work (e-file).  

Notification regarding the status of the admission decision is sent within approximately 5 working days from receipt of the application. This notification will include instructions for submission of additional documentation, if needed in the decision process. The notification is sent via e-mail if a valid e-mail address is provided on the application (we only accept e-mail inquiries).
